Record breaking year for the National Aquatic Centre

2013 was a momentous year for the National Aquatic Centre with many highlights throughout a very busy year.
Here is a snapshot of our year and the special achievements:

Centre celebrated its 10th Anniversary with numerous special events honouring customers, members, suppliers and staff

A record year for Footfall with 858,231 visitors. Up 5.22% on 2012, cementing the Centre as the 4th most visited attraction in Ireland

ToneZone membership was is at 3,900 members

9,000 participated in the Aquatics Academy (learn to swim)

Four major teams training at the Centre and all Four won major silverware in 2013:

Swim Ireland: Barry Murphy, Silver Medal, European Championships
Paralympics Ireland Swimming: 8 medals at the World Championships
Irish Men’s Cricket team: 3 major trophies including the ICC Intercontinental Cup
Dublin Senior Football team: 3 major trophies including the All-Ireland Championship

The installation of a brand new top of the range Flow Rider, surf machine in AquaZone

Appointment of a new Programme Manager for Diving, based at the National Aquatic Centre

The development of new facilities at the National Sports Campus.
