Sport Ireland Campus Continuous Swim Academy with breaks during October School Mid Term, Christmas week up to first weekend after New Year, One week at Easter and 5 weeks off during summer.
From 2018 Sport Ireland Campus has been delivering Swim Ireland’s Learn to Swim Programme This syllabus focuses on introducing swimmers to the range of swimming skills using a fun, engaging approach while all the time developing the skills to enable the swimmer to progress through each level.
As part of the programme each child will receive a passport booklet which outlines the skills taught in each level. As your child completes each level and they move through their Learn to Swim journey they will receive a sticker to stamp their passport with. Working with and applying Swim Ireland’s syllabus will allow us to more effectively monitor each swimmer’s progression to ensure they are given the best opportunity within their class to progress.
The Home Portal system in use on our academy programme allows parents to monitor their child’s progression throughout the Learn to Swim journey.
Learn to Swim Programme
Adult & Child: 6 months to 3 years: Introduction to the aquatic environment while learning through play. One parent per child attends the class. (30-minute lesson held in AquaZone)
Splash: Age 3 upwards: Independence and developing confidence in water. Classes are delivered in the AquaZone with teachers in the water. (30-minute lesson held in AquaZone)
Waves: Age 4 upwards: Introduction to the big pool with support in the water. Classes are delivered in the competition pool with teachers in the water.

Level 1: : Fundamentals of swimming, building the foundations of each aquatic skill. *NB Teachers will not be in the water for Level 1* (40-minute lessons held in main pool area)
Level 2 – Level 6: Progression from Level 1, working on the fundamentals of swimming, building the foundations of each aquatic skill. (40-minute lessons held in main pool area)
Level 7 & Level 8: The finishing touches to all strokes, building stamina and developing other aquatic skills. (60-minute lessons held in main pool area)
Teens: Teen Learn to Swim programme; Beginners to Advanced levels.

Pathway: Where to now: For swimmers who would like to develop their swim technique and keep fit. (2 x 60-minute sessions per week held in main pool area)
Rookie Lifesaving: Bronze, Silver and Gold - working from the basics to more advanced levels in lifesaving including basic first aid.
(45 minutes dry land session and 1-hour pool session on Wednesday)
Learning to swim has no age limit, all swimmers who attend a beginner’s class have the same fear and apprehensions, from getting your little toe wet to putting your face in the water. Understanding that you are not the only one with these fears will help you to overcome yours. Our teachers are understanding and patient and will help you to achieve your goal of learning how to swim, these sessions are delivered in 1 to 1.20 depth and for the nervous beginners class on a Tuesday is one teacher in the water to help and encourage while another teacher is on pool side directing the class.
These sessions are for those swimmers who have learnt the basics and would like to learn technique and build on their capabilities. The depth of water is the same as beginner classes, however the swimmers will be brought on occasion into deeper water. Stroke technique will be gradually built on from body position leading to leg kick which will lead on to arm action and then combining them altogether with breathing and timing. A variety of strokes and skills will be taught at these levels.
When a swimmer has progressed through the programme they will join the lengths class, this will help to develop confidence in deep water and swimmers will learn new skills like diving. This class is a great way to further your swimming ability and to keep fit, if you are already a confident swimmer you can join this group straight away.
Triathlon swim coaching sessions:
For all triathletes or those interested in joining the sport why not enhance your performance in any competition by learning the aquatic skills and technique required for the swimming event. By improving your stroke, you will increase your strength and mobility while improving aquatic stamina.

It is Academy policy that we cannot allow swapping of classes once they have commenced for any reasons
Any complaints about the Swim, Diving or Synchro Academy’s must be put in writing as per the National Aquatic Centres Customer Service Policy.
Please Note: The NAC swim instructors will assess each child accordingly and ensure that each child is placed into a level that is suitable for their ability.
The NAC swim instructors may add additional activities into each separate level to ensure the highest possible standard within the lesson.
Parents must view from the Pool Grandstand.
They cannot sit on pool deck & Prams and Buggies are not permitted on pool deck either.
