Triathlon Technique Development

The NAC are delighted to announce the latest part of our Aquatics Pathway Programme…..the Triathlon Technique Development Squad!

 

This is an opportunity for swimming enthusiasts who wish to use the sport of swimming to exercise, keep fit, or compete to learn the necessary skills that improve their stroke mechanics and lead to more efficient swimming!

 

Members can be registered members of other triathlon clubs and still use this programme to gain access to training in the world class National Aquatic Centre, under the guidance of our staff, which is directed by our Programme Manger & Swim Ireland’s High Performance Coach Paul Donovan.

 

The focus of the training programme is on improving participants’ technique in the water through a series of drills and progressions covering a wide variety of skills. All sessions will be planned in advance and progressions will be monitored over the course of the season. Different sessions will focus on different elements of an individual’s technique such as body position, distance per stroke, streamline etc.

 

Membership:
• Members must be over 18 to join
• Assessments may be required to ensure all members reach the basic standard of training required to complete the sessions.

Triathlon Squad

The NAC are delighted to announce the latest part of our Aquatics Pathway Programme…..theTriathlon Training Squad!

This is an opportunity for swimming enthusiasts or people new to the sport to use the sport of swimming by exercising and keeping fit with like-minded individuals in a positive environment.

Members can be registered members of other triathlon clubs and still use this programme to gain access to training in the world class National Aquatic Centre, under the guidance of our staff, which is directed by our Programme Manger & Swim Ireland’s High Performance Coach Paul Donovan.

The focus of the training programme is on improving participants’ general fitness levels in the water while emphasising the use of correct technique. All sessions will be planned in advance and progressions will be monitored over the course of the season. On average a volume of between 3km & 4km will be covered with different sessions focusing on different elements of an individual’s fitness such as cardio, speed, power etc.

• Assessments may be required to ensure all members reach the basic standard of training required to complete the sessions
